Joel Turner - Lead Firearms Instructor / Washington State Criminal Justice Training Center
"Mental Mechanics of the Shot" - The objective of this course is to give the firearms instructor a mental tool that they can pass on to their students to eliminate recoil anticipation and its link to the trigger press. The instructor will gain an innate knowledge of the mental mechanics of shooting. This knowledge will make the job of the instructor much easier in the realm of shooting problem diagnostics. The main objective of this course is to provide instructors with a solution to the common problem of trigger control.
Kyle Schmidt - Tempe Arizona PD, AZ Certified Police Instructor / Safailand Shooting School Instructor
"Patrol Rifle" - This course will stress the real world, LE application of the patrol rifle. It is intended to make the student aware of the capabilities, limitations, and advanced application in the world of law enforcement.
Each student will need the following;
- Semi-automatic patrol rifle / 4 20-30 rd magazines / Sling / Optics optional / Iron sights / Magazine holders on belt or rifle / Knee and elbow pads / Hat / Eye and ear protection / Sight adjustment/optic adjustment tools if necessary
- 400 rds of ammunition
Bruce Gray - Pistolsmith, trainer and president of Grayguns Inc.
Jerry Jones - Lead Instructor / Sheriff's deputy since 1996, / Adjunct instructor to state and federal agencies.
"Practical Fundamentals of Law Enforcement Instructor Development" - Our philosophy of instruction follows naturally from that essential truth. At the top of our pyramid, the twin core skills of sight alignment and trigger control are used in coordination with the appropriate mental direction and attitude to solve the marksmanship problem at hand. All the extraneous pressure and mental noise that our egos put in front of our performance makes shooting fast and accurately more of a challenge than it needs to be. Thus, it follows that mindset and attitude comprise the third core fundamental that we work on in our course. Our objective is to help you identify what you need to do to solve the problem at hand, how to do it, and how to think about it so that you can do it most effectively under stress.
Ammunition Requirements:
- Handgun: 750 Rounds (Duty Gear)
- Rifle: 750 Rounds (At least 4 magazines)
- Backup Handgun: 100 Rounds
- Shotgun Slugs: 50 Rounds
- Shotgun 00BK: 50 Rounds
Thursday evening will be our always popular poolside, although it may not be by the poolside, meet and greet with snacks at the Hotel.
Be sure to check the web site often for updates and additional information.
Stay Safe,
Steve
